"The K. Funk" is a K.K. Slider song that first appears in Doubutsu no Mori. It is one of the shorter K.K. Slider songs and is a very simple, but intricate piece. It uses funk drums, a funky Wurlitzer (electronic organ), and a funk trumpet, hence why funk is in its title. The title is also a reference to P-Funk, a style of funk created by George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic.
Album cover[edit]
The album cover for "The K. Funk" features Pudge, K.K. Slider, and Pancetti with afros, wearing suits and holding brass instruments. In New Leaf, the title is in the upper-right corner and reads "KK FUNK"; in New Horizons, there is a black outline featuring the actual title of the song, "The K. Funk," at the bottom. The characters are also more stylistically stretched out, and Pudge is facing towards K.K. instead of to the left.
