Shinobu Nagata, née Tanaka, (永田しのぶ, Nagata Shinobu) is a composer at Nintendo. Aside from the Animal Crossing series, she has worked on Super Mario Sunshine and the Mario Kart series.
Nagata composed the event music for Doubutsu no Mori and Animal Crossing, and returned to the series for the Welcome amiibo update to Animal Crossing: New Leaf, as well as Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Although Shinobu Nagata was still credited for "Event BGM" in Animal Crossing, given that Kazumi Totaka is known to have composed some of the new event themes for the localization[4] it remains unclear if Nagata was responsible for the other new themes.

Despite her work reappearing in Doubutsu no Mori e+, Nagata did not appear in the credits.
