The police station is a building in Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It is operated by Copper and Booker and contains the lost and found. In Animal Crossing, the police station is always available, while in New Leaf, it is a public works project. In Wild World and City Folk, the police station is functionally replaced by the checkpoint.

Appearances[edit]

In Animal Crossing[edit]

The police station in Animal Crossing

In Animal Crossing, the police station appears in a random acre. Copper stands outside the building and can tell the player about visitors to town, while Booker operates the lost and found inside. A map board also appears outside. In Doubutsu no Mori and Doubutsu no Mori+, the police station has a different sign above its entrance and a different poster on its side; there is also a sign next to the entrance that is not in Animal Crossing or Doubutsu no Mori e+.

Copper occasionally mentions Bust Illegal Parkers (B.I.P.), a campaign held by the police station to enforce parking laws, which are violated by Gracie when she visits town with her car.

On Officer's Day, Tortimer gives the player the police model,[nb 1] a miniature furniture model of the police station, and tells them that he built the police station and opened it on that day.

In New Leaf[edit]

Inside the modern police station in New Leaf

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the police station is a public works project that can be suggested by any villager. It costs 264,000 Bells and can be built in one of two styles: the classic police station, a square wooden building; or the modern police station, a circular metal building like in Animal Crossing. Booker operates the classic police station while Copper operates the modern police station. In addition to containing the lost and found, the police station also allows the player to find out if a special visitor is currently in town.

In amiibo Festival[edit]

In Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival, the police station can be built in the Board Game mode's town for 5 Happy Tickets.

Notes[edit]

  1. In Doubutsu no Mori+, Officer's Day does not exist and Tortimer instead gives the player the police model on Halloween.
