The treasure chest is a furniture item in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It can be placed on the surface of tables and other similar furniture that have surfaces for items. If this item is placed on the ground however, it is penalized by the Happy Home Academy by 1 point per each item.

The treasure chest can be obtained from the Souvenir Shop on Tortimer Island for  150 medals. It can also be obtained from the RV of Pascal for  3 MEOW Coupons.

This item appears as a furniture item in the homes of Vic. As a result, this item can be purchased by the player if they were invited by any of the preceding villagers. This item also appears in the RV of Pascal.

Notes

  1. If this item is facing a wall in the player's house, the HHA will deduct 100 points from the total score. If the player is doing a theme challenge, that penalty will increase to 10,000 points.
  2. Re-Tail sell price; can be sold for 80% of this price ( 1,500 Bells) at Timmy and Tommy's store, and for 5% ( 93 Bells) to Leila on Tortimer Island
  3. Filly and Holden cannot legitimately move to the player's town via normal gameplay, but a default house layout can be observed via hacking. They share the same housing layout.
