Jinjitsu is an event celebrated in Doubutsu no Mori+ and New Horizons that occurs on January 7. Jinjitsu is a Japanese holiday also known for nanakusa-no-sekku, the custom of eating seven-herb porridge (nanakusa-gayu). In Doubutsu no Mori+ the holiday is called Seven Herbs Day (ななくさのひ[nb 1] Nanakusa no hi?), while New Horizons refers to the event with the name of its traditional food, Nanakusa Gayu.
Appearances[edit]
In Doubutsu no Mori+[edit]
In Doubutsu no Mori+, Tortimer will appear in the player's town at the shrine between 10 AM and 6 PM. When spoken to, he will give them a weed model. This event was replaced with Founder's Day in international versions of Animal Crossing and Doubutsu no Mori e+.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons[edit]
While not actually celebrated in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, since Version 2.0 Jinjitsu is celebrated as a Nook Shopping seasonal event from January 5th to January 7th, during which nanakusa gayu can be ordered for 1,200 Bells. The event is referred to as Nanakusa Gayu despite this actually being the name of the food traditionally prepared for the holiday.
Notes[edit]
- ↑ Doubutsu no Mori+ uses solely kana; with kanji this would be rendered 七草の日.
