"Ophelia is a tragic figure in the Shakespearean play "Hamlet." There is an otherworldly expression on her face as she lies unconscious in a river. She is surrounded by the beauty of nature as she floats between life and death."
— Art description

The sinking painting is a wall-mounted furniture item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduced in the 1.2.0 April Free Update. In addition to walls, it can be placed on the floor, being displayed on an easel. As a painting, it can be donated to the museum. The artwork depicts Ophelia, drawn in 1852 by English artist John Everett Millais.

The sinking painting can be obtained from Jolly Redd's Treasure Trawler or Redd's Co-Op on Harv's Island for  4,980 Bells or from any villager in the mailbox.

No villagers have this item in their home.

In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing a vacation home request for Alice, Curt, Norma, Olivia, and Skye.
