Timmy and Tommy's store is the main shop in most of the player's town in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In addition to buying items, the player may sell furniture, wallpaper, and fruit to the store. Many of the store upgrades are similar to Tom Nook's upgrades, but the signs generally show two leaves instead of one to signify the dual ownership of the store.
In New Leaf, it is located near the center of Main Street. The store is owned and operated by Timmy and Tommy, who replace Tom Nook's store from previous games in the series; Tom Nook now runs Nook's Homes, a real estate agency. Items can be sold by the player for eighty percent of the value they would fetch at Re-Tail.
In New Horizons, the player helps Timmy and Tommy build their store through donating materials and, in return, can place the store wherever they choose. Since it's the only place where the player's items can be sold, selling returns 100% of the resale value (except when selling through the drop-box, where the return value is decreased to 80% of its maximum).
In New Leaf
Nookling Junction
Nookling Junction is the initial form of the store. It is similar to Nook's Cranny, the first form of the store in the prior installments of the Animal Crossing series.
T&T Mart
T&T Mart is the first upgrade of the store. It is quite similar to Nook 'n' Go, the second form of the store in the past games. The building's exterior has many of the same features as Nook 'n' Go's exterior, except it features an orange and white sign instead of a blue and white sign. This is the first upgrade with the catalog machine.
Super T&T
Super T&T is the second upgrade of the store. It is similar to Nookway, the third form of the store in the past games.
T.I.Y.
T.I.Y is the third upgrade of the store. Unlike the previous upgrades, it is very different compared to Nookington's, the last form of the store in the past games; it takes on the look of a home improvement store rather than a department store. The store is merged with the Garden Shop and has two separate entrances.
T&T Emporium
T&T Emporium is the fourth and last upgrade of the store. It has three stories: the Garden Shop and general supplies on the first floor, furniture, carpet, and wallpaper on the second floor, and GracieGrace on the third floor.

Nookling Global
Nookling Global is a pop-up shop run by Timmy and Tommy, who sell furniture that is otherwise unavailable through crafting. They sell fortune cookies. Three items are available each day.
In New Horizons
Nook's Cranny
Nook's Cranny is the first store to open on the player's island, run by Timmy and Tommy. Initially, buying and selling is performed by talking to Timmy in the Resident Services tent. However, after paying off the first debt via Nook Miles, Timmy and Tommy will ask the player to donate materials in order to build their own store, stating having more room will let them expand their stock.
Building the Store
The materials requested are 30 pieces each of iron nuggets, wood, hardwood and softwood. The player can donate everything at once or one stack at a time; unless all materials have been given, asking Timmy about the shop will prompt him to tell the player which are still needed. After donating all four types of materials, the player will be given a plot marker and entrusted with choosing a place on the island for the construction of the store.
Once construction is finished, the store will be open every day from 8 AM to 10 PM, providing a wider selection of items for sale (see table below), a drop-off service which is available 24/7 and the "Hot Items" sale. Like with other buildings, a celebration can be had afterwards by speaking with Tom Nook.
New Services
"Hot Items" are DIY items the player can make and sell for double their usual price, and one is selected at random each day. The player can ask either Timmy or Tommy about them inside the store or read the notice board outside, set up to the right of the entrance. These items must be sold to the twins directly, otherwise the bonus will not be applied.
The Drop-off Box is outside to the left of the entrance, allowing the player to sell goods at any time without entering the store, even when it's closed. However, all items will sell for 80% of their usual price (Hot Items sold through it are considered regular items), and the total amount of Bells earned will be automatically transferred to the player's ABD the following day, rather than given immediately. As soon as the player exits their house the next morning from 5 AM onwards, or after logging into the game for the first time that day, the player will receive a call from either Timmy or Tommy to thank them for using the service and inform them of this transfer, as well as how much the player has received.
Nook's Cranny (General Store Upgrade)
After at least 30 days have elapsed and the player has spent roughly 70,000 Bells at Nook's Cranny, the store will expand. Unlike the previous games, the store retains the name "Nook's Cranny" after renovation. The upgrade is bigger in both size and selection and provides better tools. There are also now two Hot Items daily, rather than one.
So far, this is the only general store upgrade in the game.
