Leap Day is a minor event in Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It occurs only once every four years on February 29th.

A note about the event is posted on the Bulletin Board and villagers may also mention the event. In New Leaf, Isabelle will announce that it is a leap day when the player starts the game.

If a player's birthday is set as February 29th, it will be celebrated on the 29th during Leap Years and on the 28th during every other year. Villagers will make note of the birthday being on a Leap Day in such events. Leap Day is also Luna's birthday.
