Sally (named Hazel in Animal Crossing) is a normal squirrel villager in the Animal Crossing series who appears in all games to date. Her name was used by Cally in Animal Crossing, and her former name, Hazel, has been used by another squirrel villager since Animal Crossing: New Leaf; Sally is the first villager to have her English name changed. Her original name, as well as her catchphrase, "nutmeg," may come from hazel nuts, which relates to her species, as squirrels are commonly associated with nuts.

In New Horizons, Sally has the music hobby and may sing anywhere without the need of a stereo.

Appearance

Sally is a bright, ginger orange squirrel with sophisticated, half-closed eyes and chalky violet eyeshadow. Her pupils are large and are a deep shade of purple, though at first glance they may seem black. Her tail has two swirling pinstripes; one brown, the other white. She has three lines on her head. Her eyes highly resemble Sandy's.

Like most normal villagers, Sally will be very sensitive and kind. She will be easily upset or offended by other villagers, particularly lazy or cranky villagers. She enjoys the usual hobbies, such as fashion, bug catching, fishing, and furniture. As with all other villagers, she will enjoy the player's company at her house where she may tell the player to "ignore the mess" - a concern she shares with other normal villagers. She will get along well with other normal villagers and peppy villagers, appearing motherly in conversation. In Animal Crossing: Wild World, she will talk about an unseen character called Moppina, an imaginary friend that reflects on the normal personality type's hygiene and cleanliness concerns.
