The athletic jacket is a top item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The item can be worn by either the player or any villagers.

The athletic jacket can be obtained from Mabel before building Able Sisters, or from the shop once it has opened for 960 Bells. The item can also be obtained from the apparel shop in Happy Home Paradise for 860 Poki if the shop's theme is set to sell "loose clothes", or when the store is asked to sell any clothes under the "anything is fine" option.

This item is worn by Al, Bam, Charlise, Hazel, Lucha, and Stinky as their default outfit. In addition, villagers will wear this top when they are exercising, unless gifted other valid outfits with the "Sports" AITag Label, such as baseball uniform, cycling shirt, and sports tank, among others. They will also wear an athletic jacket during Fishing Tourneys and Bug-Offs.

In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing a vacation home request for Al, Bam, Bruce, Faith, Hugh, Kody, Miranda, Rocket, Rooney, Sparro, Teddy, and Vivian. The item can also be unlocked when tasked by Lottie to design the school. In addition, the item can be used to change the clothing of a villager or the player either during or after the designing process for screenshot purposes.
