Despite its categorization under housewares, the glowing-moss stool can be placed on either the ground or on the surfaces of tables and other similar furniture items that have surfaces for items. The player is able to sit on this item. As an outdoor item, it will provide an additional 0.5 development points towards the island rating.

The glowing-moss stool can be obtained from crafting, which requires 8× glowing moss. The recipe for this item can be obtained from message bottles found on Kapp'n's boat tours or on the main archipelago island in Happy Home Paradise. The item's color can be customized either by using 1 customization kit or by Cyrus at Harv's Island for 1,000 Bells.

This item is also required as one of the chairs for the dining hall at the café, as one of the chairs for the waiting area at the hospital, as one of the chairs for the dining hall at the restaurant, and as one of the chairs for the classroom at the school.

The item can also be found during DJ KK's music festival on the main archipelago island in Happy Home Paradise.
