The Tape Deck is a furniture item in every first generation Animal Crossing game. It can be placed on the surface of tables and other similar furniture that have surfaces for items. It functions as a stereo, allowing the player to play K.K. Slider's music.
The Tape Deck can be obtained as a starting item or from Tom Nook's store for 700 Bells. It does not have any color for the purpose of fêng shui.
