- "You only live once, unless you have another guy."
- — Fortune #24, Animal Crossing: New Leaf
The 1-Up Mushroom is a furniture item in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It is part of the Mario Theme. It can be placed on the surface of tables and other similar furniture that have surfaces for items. If this item is placed on the ground however, it is penalized by the Happy Home Academy by 1 point per each item. The player can interact with this item. This item is based on the 1-Up Mushroom, an item in the Super Mario series that gives the player an extra life.
The 1-Up Mushroom can be obtained from redeeming fortune #24 to either Timmy or Tommy at their store after eating a fortune cookie.
No villagers have this item in their home, nor do any characters have this item in their RV.
