Spider crab
From Nookipedia, the Animal Crossing wiki
The spider crab is a sea creature (fish in Pocket Camp) in the Animal Crossing series introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Donating to the museum
In New Leaf
The information board in the aquarium will list information about this sea creature:
"Known for their long legs, adult male spider crabs can have leg spans of over three yards. This actually makes them the largest species of crab in the world. They are thought to have lived in ocean bottoms for tens of millions of years without changing shape. Their vivid-orange bodies feature white spots, making their coloration truly beautiful."
In New Horizons
When donating to the museum, Blathers will say the following:
"Hoooot hooot, I do so hope to not hyperventilate as I regale you with the spider crab's qualities. But I would be remiss if I did not point out that this, the largest crab on earth...looks like a GIANT SPIDER! Arachnophobia aside...this crab is a magnificent creature to be sure. Though they can grow up to 12 feet from claw to claw and weigh up to 40 pounds, they're said to be docile. In fact, these gentle giants love to hide, attaching seaweed and sponges to their shell as camouflage. My feathers, if only I could unsee the SPIDER in the spider crab...I'm sure I'd find it charming as can be."
The spider crab is located in the deep sea tank in the museum.
Fishing Tourney
In New Leaf
During a Fishing Tourney, when given a spider crab, Chip will not score the sea creature but will say the following:
"Spider crab? You gotta definitely steam it. Steaming is just such a simple way to cook things, right? I mean, I'm just gonna eat it totally raw, though. Feel free to follow my example, but I'm eating NOW. YUM!"
