The item remains unused in {{DnMe+}}, where, as with all dummy items in that game, its name appears as "かぐ?" (''kagu?'', furniture?) in the player's inventory. However, when dropped on the ground outside, its name from {{DnM+|nolink}} is shown. The item appears as the same dummy model but cannot be placed down in the player's house if in their inventory.

The work ahead signboard (てまえのカンバン temae no kanban?) is a furniture item in Doubutsu no Mori, Doubutsu no Mori+, and Dòngwù Sēnlín. It is part of the Construction Theme.

The work ahead signboard can be obtained from Tom Nook's store for  800 Bells.[nb 2] It does not have any color for the purpose of fêng shui.

In Doubutsu no Mori, this item appears in the homes of Dotty, Sandy, Spike, and Vladimir.

In Doubutsu no Mori+, this item appears in the homes of Dotty, Sandy, Spike, and Vladimir.

In Dòngwù Sēnlín, this item appears in the homes of Dotty, Sandy, Spike, and Vladimir.

For villagers who have this item placed on the floor in their house, there is a chance that the villager will gift it to the player.

Version differences

The work ahead signboard in Dòngwù Sēnlín

In Dòngwù Sēnlín, the work ahead signboard has the same design as the Japanese one only with Chinese lettering.

Leftover dummy item

The dummy model used by unused items in Animal Crossing.

In Animal Crossing, the work ahead signboard is still leftover in the game data as a dummy item, unobtainable without gameplay modification or glitches. It has the unused name "men working sign" and uses the dummy model, a white triangle with red Japanese text reading ダミー (damī, dummy). Its name was also translated to other languages in the European version of Animal Crossing, with the name "señal obras" in Spanish, "panneau chantier" in French, "Baustellenschild" in German, and "lavori in corso" in Italian.

The item remains unused in Doubutsu no Mori e+, where, as with all dummy items in that game, its name appears as "かぐ?" (kagu?, furniture?) in the player's inventory. However, when dropped on the ground outside, its name from Doubutsu no Mori+ is shown. The item appears as the same dummy model but cannot be placed down in the player's house if in their inventory.
