The tokonoma (とこのま?) is a furniture item in Doubutsu no Mori, Doubutsu no Mori+, and Doubutsu no Mori e+. It is replaced by the large plant in Dòngwù Sēnlín.
The tokonoma can be obtained from Tom Nook's store for 2,500 Bells.[nb 2] It does not have any color for the purpose of fêng shui.
No villagers have this item in their home.
Version differences
Leftover dummy item
In Animal Crossing, the tokonoma is still leftover in the game data as a dummy item, unobtainable without gameplay modification or glitches. It has the unused name "alcove" and uses the dummy model, a white triangle with red Japanese text reading ダミー (damī, dummy). Its name was also translated to other languages in the European version of Animal Crossing, with the name "alcoba" in Spanish, "alcôve" in French, "Alkoven" in German, and "alcova" in Italian.
