The shell bed is a customizable houseware furniture item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It is part of the Shell Series. The player is able to lie down on this item. If inside the player's house, the player can use the shell bed to enter a dream island by laying down and choosing to go to sleep. As an outdoor item, it will provide an additional 0.5 development points towards the island rating.

The shell bed can be obtained from crafting, which requires 5× giant clam, 3× clay, and 4× stone. The recipe for this item can be obtained from peppy villagers, either when they are crafting in their house, or when the player receives their message bottle from the beach. The item's shell color can be customized either by using 7 customization kits or by Cyrus at Harv's Island for 5,200 Bells.

This item appears as a furniture item in the homes of Annalise, Diana, June, Rhonda, and Sprinkle. As a result, this item has a chance to be purchasable by the player if they were invited by any of the preceding villagers.

In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing a vacation home request for Agnes, Bubbles, Cashmere, Freckles, Ione, Judy, Marina, Peaches, and Pietro.

In the designing process of Happy Home Paradise, Freckles requires this item to be placed in or outside their vacation home. This item is also required as one of the beds for the patient ward at the hospital.
