Shoes
Shoes are clothing items in the Animal Crossing series that first appear in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Prior to becoming an item, the player's shoes can be customized in Animal Crossing: City Folk by Kicks. Villagers are unable to wear shoes.
Appearances[edit]
Prior to City Folk[edit]
In the first generation games and Animal Crossing: Wild World, the player's shoes cannot be changed. Male players wear blue shoes with white accents and green socks, and female players wear red Mary Janes and long socks with blue and white stripes.
In City Folk[edit]
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, the color and style of the player's shoes can be changed by Kicks, a shoe shiner who appears in the city. It costs 500 Bells to have Kicks shine the player's shoes. If the player tells Kicks to "Go by color", the resulting shoes will match the dominant color of the player's top and hair. If the player tells him to "Match my style", the resulting shoes will match only color of the player's top. After having their shoes shined about 15 or 20 times, the player can choose to receive shoes of the opposite gender.
