Look
Looks are collections of two or more clothing items in Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: New Leaf that share a theme.
Appearances[edit]
In City Folk[edit]
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, looks consist of a top and a piece of headgear or an accessory. When purchasing an item from the Able Sisters, Mable tells the player which look it is a part of if any.
If the player speaks to Gracie in GracieGrace while wearing a complete look, along with shoes of a matching color, she offers a 10% discount on all items in the store until the player leaves.
On Halloween, speaking to a villager in their house while wearing a complete look results in the villager giving the player candy. It also prevents villagers from turning the player's top into the patched shirt or moldy shirt. On Festivale, the first time a villager sees the player while they are wearing a complete look, they give the player candy.
In New Leaf[edit]
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, looks are purely aesthetic and have no effect on gameplay. They can now consist of dresses, bottoms, and shoes alongside tops, headgear, and accessories. When purchasing an item from the Able Sisters, Mable or Labelle tells the player which look it is a part of if any.
