Ducks are a species of bird villager in the Animal Crossing series. They have large wide bills, dome-shaped heads, flat feet, and small bodies.
There are nineteen duck villagers, one of which is an islander, and one of which was previously an islander. Ten are female and nine are male, making it a predominantly female species. Of these, four are lazy, four are jock, four are peppy, four are snooty, two are normal, and one is smug. There are currently no cranky or big sister ducks.
Fruity and Shinabiru are the only ducks who have not reappeared since Doubutsu no Mori e+. All of the ducks who appear in New Horizons also appear in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

- In Animal Crossing: Wild World, lazy duck villagers occasionally ask the player if they want to hear a scary story. If the player says yes, the duck will tell them that the mayor's favorite food is Peking duck, and they find this creepy and unnatural.[citation needed]
