DIY workbench

A DIY workbench is a type of item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that allows the player to craft and customize certain items via the DIY mechanic. Players can craft craftable items from their learned DIY recipes by bringing the required materials to a workbench. Certain furniture may be customized by bringing a customizable item and its required number of customization kits to a workbench.

Locations

Players are able to acquire and place workbenches on their island or inside their home. In addition, a workbench is permanently located inside of Resident Services. This workbench is a unique design and is unobtainable as an item.

A simple DIY workbench is available on all Mystery Islands.

Some villagers will have a DIY workbench in their house as part of their default interior design. Any villager that is crafting will have a DIY workbench temporarily spawn in their house for the duration of their crafting.
