The player accessing a wardrobe to change their clothing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Wardrobes are items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that the player can interact with to change their clothing. In addition, they can also use a wardrobe to adjust the outfit that they can wear when using a wand.

The player cannot use a wardrobe to change their clothing if they are currently wearing a wand outfit, their pockets are full, they are using the Island Designer app, or are wearing a wet suit.

If the player interacts with a wardrobe that they did not place (for example, in a villager's house), one of the following messages will be displayed:

• "I wonder what's inside. I'll just take a teeny, tiny, little peek..."
• "There's nothing in here..."

• "Wow! Quite the clothing collection!"
• "So many clothes..."
• "This is from someone else's island, so none of my stuff will be in here..."
• "I see... Guess it makes sense..."

If a player places a wardrobe outside, but still on their island, the player will be able to access their wardrobe through them.
