(The description mentions that the DIY recipes she'll give out is random, which is somewhat untrue; in game, Celeste will hand out Zodiac DIYs if it's relating to the current season. I also decided to take away the parentheses, since it messed with the info I was trying to write)

Celeste is an owl who first appeared in Animal Crossing: Wild World and has since appeared in every main Animal Crossing series games. She is the younger sister of Blathers. Celeste is slightly smaller than her older brother; her plumage is burgundy, and she has a pink bow on her head. In games prior to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Celeste works in the museum with Blathers. Celeste's main role is operating the observatory and to help with identifying constellations and stargazing. She is sensitive, calm, and quiet, unlike her brother. Her sensitivity shows when she is caught snoozing during the day; she tells the player that unlike Blathers, she does not sleep on the job.

Appearances

Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk

Celeste WW.png

Celeste made her debut in Animal Crossing: Wild World, acting to assist the player in creating constellations and stargazing. Upon talking to her in the observatory, located up the stairs behind Blathers, she will give the player the option to create, delete, or view constellations. The player can also inform Celeste that she is cute, but she thinks the player is teasing her and simply asks them to look through the telescope instead. Celeste will also need to be talked to in order to unlock Blathers' Episodes. In Animal Crossing: City Folk, Celeste has the exact same job as in Wild World.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Celeste NL.png

Celeste returns in Animal Crossing: New Leaf where she runs a gift shop on the Museum's second floor after it has been built, as stargazing was removed. She sells Museum-themed items as well as silver tools. She will even allow the player to open up an exhibition room of their own provided that they pay her a rental fee of 10,000 Bells.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Celeste no longer works at the museum, and instead can be seen on various nights wandering around the island, indicating that a Meteor Shower is occurring sometime that night. It is possible, however, to encounter a meteor shower when she is not visiting, as she visits at most once a week. When talked to for the first time she will inform the player about meteor showers and tell them how to wish when a shooting star falls. She will also give them the Star Wand DIY Recipe. Each new day she is talked to she will give a player a random new DIY Recipe, prioritizing zodiac themed ones as long as it's relating to the current season. These can also be handed out when visiting other player's islands, but a player can only get one from her per day on any island. Recipes will not be guaranteed the same for all players talking to her on the same day. If she appears during a meteor shower, she can be seen wishing when shooting stars shoot by. If the player has a zodiac item in their pocket (either an item from the Astrology Set or a Star sign fragment), they can show Celeste the item and she will tell a story about mythology based on the item.

Other appearances

Doubutsu no Mori (film)

Celeste appears in the film alongside Blathers in the museum where they meet Ai for the first time. Ai meets Celeste and Blathers when she is screaming while seeing the fossils, which in the dark, resemble real dinosaurs, in the museum. Celeste becomes good friends with Ai. She has a minor role in the movie.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Celeste appears as a trophy and sometimes appears on the Smashville stage.

Blathers & Celeste

Description Blathers, the elder of this pair, is curator of the town museum, and he's in charge of the insect, art, fish, and fossil displays. He's quite knowledgeable and shares what he knows about donations. He's in charge of donated bugs but hates the majority of them. His younger sis, Celeste, is in charge of the museum's observatory. She's cute even with her feathers ruffled.

Celeste

Description NTSC-U: Celeste works in the town museum, where you can find her dozing during the day. You can't really be mad about that, though—she is an owl, after all. Most residents will let her sleep, knowing that she'll wake up promptly if she's needed. What could she be dreaming about?

PAL: Go to the town museum during the day to see Celeste working there. Working...and snoozing. You can't really blame her, though—she is an owl! If you ever need her help with something, just talk to her and she'll wake right up. If you don't need her help, though, maybe you should be nice and let her keep dreaming!
