The Sea Bass is the most common oceanic fish in the Animal Crossing series. Appearing all day and all year, many a fisherman has caught a sea bass hoping for something rare, such as a Coelacanth, because of its large shadow - which is reflected by the player's quote when catching it.

Donating to the Museum

Like all fish and insects in Animal Crossing, the sea bass can be donated to the Museum by talking to Blathers, the curator. He will tell the player some information about it when donating it.

In City Folk

"...Ah, hoo, the sea bass. In some parts of the world, these fish have a different name as juveniles. They change names once they mature, eh wot? What's more, these names can differ from region to region... It's almost as if the sea bass is some sort of secret agent, eh wot?'""

The sea bass will appear in the ocean fish tank located at the back of the aquarium section of the museum.

Encyclopedia Information

Once the player has caught a particular fish or bug, they can find information about it in the bug or fish menus. Once the sea bass has been caught, the following information can be found in the fish menu:

Further information

The European Sea Bass is a fish that can be found in Europe, in the Atlantic Ocean. Unlike in Animal Crossing, this fish will stray inland, that is, into fresh water. The fish grows to just over a meter. Again, unlike in Animal Crossing, this fish is actually endangered.
