Bob is a lazy cat villager in the Animal Crossing series who appears in all games to date. His name may be derived from bobcat. His Japanese catchphrase, neko, means "cat," relating to his species. According to series co-creator Hisashi Nogami, Bob was the first villager created, and his January 1 birthday came as a result of that.[1]
In New Horizons, Bob has the play hobby and can run around with his arms extended at any time, rather than only outside Resident Services during a scripted activity with a group of villagers.
Characteristics[edit]
Appearance[edit]
Bob is a purple cat with dark purple polka dots, half-closed lazy yellow eyes, and light purple paws. The inside of his ears are pink, and his tail is purple with darker purple stripes.
Personality[edit]
Below is a brief description of the lazy personality. For more information, click here.
As a lazy villager, Bob has a relaxed, laid-back lifestyle and will appear friendly toward the player. He often talks about food and is humorous or naïve during conversations. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well with peppy, smug, and cranky villagers, while snooty and jock villagers may not get along with him due to their conflicting lifestyles. In New Horizons, Bob goes to sleep at 11 PM and wakes up at 8 AM.
