It looks as though Acnh Player (talk | contribs | logs) made this edit when his user page has the same vacation template. He likely is ban evading. Should staff take a look? Super Mario World 10:11, June 21, 2024 (EDT)

In this case, we couldn't prove that it was him. We also have to consider the possibility that it could have been an impersonator. Drago (talk)

Acnh Player edited this block template changing the date from June 22 to June 21, (see page history for reason why) and had gotten into an edit war over someone else over it. Is this something he shouldn’t have done? Super Mario World

Don't worry, the whole situation is being discussed since it seems to have escalated quickly. Edit warring is definitely not acceptable user behavior (as outlined in policy) so please do report if you see another edit war talking place. Thanks! Drago (talk)

My question was more about editing block templates and less about edit warring, given that no staff members have reverted back his changes

This is only my opinion, but if there's an obvious mistake on the block template, I don't think there's anything wrong with a non-staff member correcting it. I'm not sure that there was an obvious mistake here, but Acnh Player may have been in a different time zone, causing the confusion. Drago (talk)

I can’t really provide much evidence but any usernames related to Animal Crossing or Nookipedia (such as NookipediaCrossing) suspiciously sounds like a sock of Acnh Player given that many usernames he made on Wikipedia are related to Nookipedia or Animal Crossing, and he seems obsessed with editing Nookipedia. Idk why I have my suspicions but Harry Potter appears to be a sock of Acnh Player given that his infobox is done in a similar way and he seems to act like a staff member. Or he thinks picking usernames not related to Animal Crossing or Nookipedia will help avoid suspicion. Super Mario World 08:02, July 18, 2024 (EDT)

I can't give you a definite answer because the bureaucrats are saying there's no IP match. All I can say is that investigation is ongoing because we are suspicious too. Thank you for understanding! Drago (talk)

If Hello was a new alt made by Acnh Player then I think 안녕 나는 기분좋아 o is also him because the Korean text google translates into “hello I feel good” and he did go on vacation to Korea. It also seems suspicious that he would make two usernames involving “hello”. Super Mario World 22:12, July 23, 2024 (EDT)

Spam filter

help i got a problem. i tried to save a page but there was a url in the edit summary. for some reason it said it was spam even though it was just a shortened url of a grammar explanation page. help. See this video:

This is because MediaWiki (the software) by default has filters for URL shorteners as a precaution for spam. I will ask Nookipedia staff if the link shortener URL is good to go to be whitelisted. -- PanchamBro (talk • contributions) 20:25, September 1, 2024 (EDT)

After talking with some staff, there's really no reason and nothing good to come to whitelist the shortened URL that you posted in your edit summary as it obfuscates the actual link with no knowledge as to where it goes and that it can break.

However, it should be noted that you can post the link by removing all the extra bits at the end of the non-shortened URL to only have https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-life-hacks/writing/quotation-mark-rules instead.
