The golden rod is a tool item in Doubutsu no Mori+, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+. It is distinguished from the normal fishing rod by having an improved lure, making it easier to attract fish in the water.

The golden rod can be obtained by catching every fish. The next day, Tortimer will appear outside the player's house to give them the golden rod. The golden rod cannot be sold.
