Hopper (ダルマン, Daruman, Dalman) is a cranky villager in the Animal Crossing series. He is a crested penguin, who is named after the rockhopper penguin, but design is based off a Macaroni Penguin. He also appeared in 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori. Hopper is also the only penguin with a cranky personality. He appears in every game in the series thus far.
Appearance
Hopper is a black and white crested penguin, with a yellow beak and long, straw-like eyebrows which give him an angry look at default. He has orange eyes with black pupils. He also initially wears the Dragon shirt.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here.
As a cranky villager, Hopper will appear mature compared to other personality types. This will make him appear belittling and insensitive to other villagers, including the player. Despite this, he will learn to confide in the player, considering them his only friend. He will enjoy the usual hobbies, but for relaxation and peace than competition. He will find it difficult to socialize with peppy villagers, who he will criticize when talking to other villagers. He will get along with normal and snooty villagers, as well as other cranky villagers, who he will share deeper conversations with. He will, on occasion, annoy a normal villager, usually when being mean about something or someone.
House
In Animal Crossing: Wild World, he has cabin furniture. He will also have Lucky K.K. playing on a radio if he has one. In Animal Crossing: City Folk, he has cabin furniture in his house. There are a couple of totem poles in his house too. He still listens to Lucky K.K, and has two red gyroids in his house.
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf his home contains a Cabin Table, Cabin Side Table, Cabin Couch, a Dragon Shirt just like the one he's wearing, a birdcage, and a laptop.
