Fish are collectable items in the Animal Crossing series. Players can catch them by fishing in bodies of water using a fishing rod. They can be donated to the museum, sold, or placed in the player's home like a piece of furniture.
There are 56 fish in Animal Crossing: Wild World and 64 in Animal Crossing: City Folk. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the number of fish increased to 72.
