Poncho is a jock cub villager that has appeared in every game from the Animal Crossing series to date. Poncho can be spotted on the front cover of Animal Crossing: City Folk. He's named after the traditional South American garment, the poncho; he may be based upon the spectacled bear, a diminutive species native to the Andean mountains and the only surviving species of bear in South America.

Poncho is a navy blue cub. He has light blue hair, and a yellow muzzle. The tips of his paws and feet are also yellow.

Poncho is a jock, because he starts talking about sports and his big muscles. The more the player gets to know him however, the friendlier he gets. Poncho is very easy to convince to not move. Though Poncho is very hard-headed and selfish sometimes, he is very caring and lovable. He may ask for clothes. Players are advised to not stand him up when inviting him to the player's house. If the player does not arrive, he will dislike them a bit more and will stay angry for a bit of time.
