The net can be obtained from Tom Nook's store for 500 Bells. The net will not appear for sale until the player has bought or sold^{[nb 2]} 3,000 Bells-worth of items at the store. It can also occasionally be found at the lost and found.

The net does not appear in the catalog in Doubutsu no Mori.
