"I caught a boot! It, uh, wasn't made for swimming."
Player, Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The boot is a crafting material in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and is considered one of the various trash items alongside the empty can, old tire, spoiled turnips, used fountain firework, and any lost items. As a trash item, it is penalized by the Happy Home Academy if inside a house.

The boot can be obtained by fishing a medium fish shadow. It sells for  10 Bells when sold to Nook's Cranny.

In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing a vacation home request for Ace and Harry.
