Bot

Bots are accounts controlled by wiki users that perform automated tasks on Nookipedia. Five bot accounts (Bot, Autotroph, Weavile, HamsterMech and ZuckerBot) are currently in use on the wiki.

Bot list

Bot (Talk • Contribs) Edits periodically Operator Jake Bot was originally used to transfer images to Nookipedia from Wikia, and later to welcome new users. It is now used by Jake intermittently for general wiki maintenance. Puppet (Talk • Contribs) Inactive Operator Jake Puppet was used for testing wiki features and performing text replacements. Autotroph (Talk • Contribs) Active Operator Decomposer Autotroph is used to make category replacement edits using Sonchou. Weavile (Talk • Contribs) Active Operator Vmario97 Weavile is used to upload files using Sonchou. HamsterMech (Talk • Contribs) Active Operator SuperHamster HamsterMech is used to add tag parameters to New Horizons item pages. ZuckerBot (Talk • Contribs) active Operator Zucker2008 ZuckerBot is used to patrol the wiki and alert Zucker2008 should there be any abuse. It is also used to keep an eye on and edit Zucker2008's watchlist and user page.

Abilities

With the exception of sending emails to wiki users and moving pages, Bots have the abilities of an autoconfirmed user, in addition to the following:

• Suppress redirects when moving pages
• Make minor edits to talk page that are not marked as new messages
• Upload files from a URL
• Use higher limits in API queries
• Make string replacements on the entire wiki

Bots' edits do not appear on the Recent Changes list by default, and their edits are automatically marked as patrolled.
