Gonzo is a cranky koala villager in the Animal Crossing series. His initial phrase, "mate," is a common way for an Australian to refer to a friend. He originally appeared in the original games up to Doubutsu no Mori e+, although he was planned to appear in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer but was cut. He eventually returned in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo as an amiibo card villager.

In New Horizons, Gonzo has the nature hobby and may be found reading a book pertaining to an item he is studying, which can be either flowers, bugs, fish, or fossils.

Appearance

Gonzo is a gray koala with slanted eyebrows that make him appear angry, fitting for his cranky personality. He has large gray ears with pink inside of them and a tuft of gray hair on the top of his head. His eyebrows are white.
