Animal Village is the setting of 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori. Modeled after a town in Animal Crossing: Wild World, the village is surrounded by cliffs to the north, west, and east, with a river running through the center and leading to an ocean on the south border. The village houses various animals and buildings, as well as Ai, who moves in at the beginning of the film. Like a town in Wild World, Animal Village contains a town hall, the Able Sisters, Nook's Cranny,[nb 1] and a museum. Tortimer is the mayor of Animal Village, and during the events of the film he is running unopposed for reelection.

During the film, two events are held in Animal Village: the Fireworks Festival and the Winter Festival. During the Fireworks Festival, in addition to fireworks, various stalls are set up outside town hall and K.K. Slider performs. During the Winter Festival, a competition is held to see who sets up the best holiday decorations.
