Wisp (ゆうたろう, Yūtarou) is a character in the Animal Crossing series. He is absent from Doubutsu no Mori, Animal Crossing: Wild World, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. In the earlier installments, he is a spirit, while in Animal Crossing: City Folk, he is a genie. He appears at night, usually between 12 and 4 a.m. (8 p.m. to midnight in Animal Crossing: City Folk).[citation needed]
Appearances
Animal Crossing
In Animal Crossing, the player must find Wisp and talk to him. Wisp will only be out occasionally, and when he is, he'll be out from midnight to 4:00 A.M. He will ask the player to catch five spirits with their net. After the player catches the five spirits, they can choose one of three rewards:
Rewards
- He will remove all the weeds in the player's town.
- He will give the player a rare furniture item.
- He will repaint the roof the player's house using a new color.
Animal Crossing: City Folk
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, the player will have to find the Empty lamp somewhere in the town. After the player finds the lamp and returns it to Wisp, the genie will ask the player to talk to him in their attic, where he will offer to grant them a wish. However, Wisp informs the player that he will only grant them one of three wishes. If the player decides to not make a wish at the time, Wisp will remain in the lamp for later use.
Wishes
- Wisp will remove all the weeds in the player's town, excluding clovers and dandelions.
- The spirit will give the player a randomly selected piece of clothing, furniture, accessory, or hat which the player may not already have available in his/her catalog. However, the item is usually not rare.
- Wisp will remove all the cockroaches in the player's house.
