Super Smash Bros. is a series of crossover fighting video games featuring characters from various video game franchises, mainly from Nintendo. Each entry since Super Smash Bros. Melee has featured content from the Animal Crossing series, with each entry featuring more than the last. As of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate there are two playable fighters from the Animal Crossing series: Villager and Isabelle.

Gameplay[edit]

The main objective in the Super Smash Bros. games is to defeat opponents by knocking them off the stage. When a fighter is attacked, a percentage representing their damage increases; the higher the percentage, the easier it is for them to be knocked off the stage.

Players fight using the attack (often mapped as GCN A Button.svg) and special (often mapped as GCN B Button.svg) buttons, along with a direction held on the GCN Control Stick.svg. Players can also create a temporary shield around themselves (often mapped to GCN L Button.svg or GCN R Button.svg) to prevent being knocked around, or grab opponents (often mapped as GCN Z Button.svg) and throw them around.
