Donating to the museum[edit]
Upon donation of the fruit beetle to the museum, Blathers will comment on it. In New Leaf, instead of opining about the donation, he posts information in the fruit beetle's exhibit.
In Wild World[edit]
It can be found in the second room of the insect exhibit on the sixth tree to the left.
In City Folk[edit]
It can be found in the top terrace of the insect exhibition, on the second cedar tree from the right.
In New Leaf[edit]
The fruit beetle can be found on a tree on the right side of the upper right room of the insect section.
Real-world information[edit]
The fruit beetle can be found in both Japan and the northeastern United States. It is also known as the Japanese beetle. As larvae, they have six legs, and when resting form a C-shape. While in the game they are found on trees, they are actually found on flowers. Their favorite fruits are figs and peaches, and they also enjoy eating flowers. They are considered a pest insect in gardens, as they tend to infest flowers such as lilies. They make a chirping sound, which sounds similar to the noise that bees make.
