The red watermelon rug is an item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduced in the 2.0 Free Update. As a rug item, it can be placed inside the houses of villagers, the player, Photopia on Harv's Island, a vacation home in Happy Home Paradise, or in the Room Sketch app.

The red watermelon rug can be obtained from Saharah's Co-Op on Harv's Island for  1,800 Bells. Once the item is touched by the player, they can then purchase this item from their catalog for  1,500 Bells.
