The mermaid fence is an item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduced in the 1.7.0 Free Update.[nb 1] As a fence item, it is used akin to a tool to place a fence down. Despite its name, the mermaid fence is not considered part of the Mermaid Series.
Ten mermaid fences can be obtained from crafting, which requires 1× pearl, 5× coral, and 5× sand dollar. The recipe for this item can be obtained from Pascal after giving him the Scallop.
In Happy Home Paradise, no villagers or facility unlock this item for designing. It can only be used once the player's DIY catalog is unlocked after completing the 15th vacation home.
Notes
- ↑ The official patch notes for version 1.7.0 claim the item was introduced in the 1.3.0 Free Summer Update (Wave 1) but had an unobtainable DIY recipe due to a bug.[1] However, only the model for the item was introduced in version 1.3.0, and it did not have a DIY recipe and could not be used as an item.
