About a redirect[edit]

The KK Slider redirect is unnecessary, I think it should be removed. Princess Peach [[File:Bulborb Buffet.jpg|40px]] (talk) 19:53, May 5, 2016 (EDT)

The reason the redirect exists is so that anyone that searches for "KK Slider" (without the periods) is redirected to "K.K. Slider" (with the periods). KK Slider isn't an unreasonable search for someone to make, so this is a way to ensure anyone searching for KK Slider gets sent to the right article. Do you still think the redirect is unnecessary? ~SuperHamster Talk 01:11, May 6, 2016 (EDT)

Japanese translation[edit]

In a translation service とたけけ translated Bamboo and installation, not Totakeke, it was a professional translation service, even a person who can understand Japanese said "とたけけ translates into bamboo and flooring" The translation must be wrong. Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 20:43, May 25, 2016 (EDT)

in a translation service スライダ translated to Totakeke im sure this is the correct translation, im adding it in there. Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 20:50, May 25, 2016 (EDT)

Hi there. I'm not familiar at all with Japanese, but translators can be tricky and you can't always trust them. For me, Google Translate returned とたけけ as "Door was Keke", and "スライダ" as Slider.
Regardless, Nintendo's own Japanese name for K.K. Slider is available right on his amiibo card. I've reverted your edit as a result. ~SuperHamster Talk 22:52, May 25, 2016 (EDT)

Request-only songs in NH[edit]

So, one of the new tracks you get from requesting an invalid song happens to be a remix of the Wild World title theme. I'm not sure which page it should be mentioned on. AgentParadox (talk) 14:02, April 10, 2020 (EDT)

K.K. Appears on Monday[edit]

Today, I just logged onto my game and K.K. Slider was in the plaza even thought it's Monday. I suspect that because the fireworks show was on Sunday and the Bug-Off was on Saturday he had to show up on Monday. Should we consider adding this? Added it, thanks for pointing it out! ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 16:05, August 24, 2020 (EDT)
No problem. Bones aF Villager Icon.png TDCbox.png TDCtalk.png 20:46, August 24, 2020 (EDT)

Splitting DJ KK[edit]

Successful proposal (6-0). The splitting will be done shortly. vmario97 (talk) 06:11, December 10, 2021 (EST)

Since his return to NH, I was thinking about creating a separate page for DJ KK. At first, I thought he was a possible separate character from K.K. Slider since if you invite him to the Roost, he treats K.K. as a separate individual and refuses to say if he is him. However, it's pretty clear in reality DJ KK is an alter-ego of K.K. for several reasons: K.K.'s amiibo figure description says so; Kazumi Totaka says in an interview "K.K. makes his debut as a DJ"; if you invite DJ KK in Happy Home Designer, he straight up says "you've got K.K. Slider"; and finally, you can't have the two of them together in Photopia.

That said, I still think there is merit to having a separate page as an alter-ego of K.K., the main reason being that DJ KK plays a different role than K.K. The last example of Photopia also demonstrates that. I think it's confusing to have all the info for DJ KK, who pretty much acts like a different character even though he isn't, on the same page as K.K. The closest example is Cornimer, and while it isn't ever explicitly said he's Tortimer, it's very, very obvious he is. But, we keep him separate due to his different role and usual treatment as a different character. Finally, a DJ KK page would also would serve as a good place to collect the audio for DJ KK's remixes. Do note that should we go with such a split, it wouldn't need a disambiguation with the song DJ K.K., since the character's name is spelled without punctuation, but obviously we'd use hatnotes. Support Support - Makes sense to me! Especially if the remixes are to appear on his page. I put a split request on the article page for you. Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 17:24, November 16, 2021 (EST)
Thanks, I didn’t know that was a thing. One more thing to add is that in Happy Home Designer, DJ KK acts as a costume of K.K. Slider, but in Happy Home Paradise, they have separate houses, dialogue and unlocked items (which is another reason to split, I think). DJ KK also has a separate photo and poster, while none of the other alternate costumes for characters do. Chubby Bub (talk) 18:34, November 16, 2021 (EST)
Support Support - I think there are enough differences between K.K. and DJ KK to warrant a separate page. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 21:00, November 17, 2021 (EST)
Given Cornimer's existence, I would say yeah I would Support Support this split. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 00:22, November 20, 2021 (EST)
Support Support per the reasons Cornimer and Gullivarrr are split. I'm not sure but I would expect DJ KK to have a separate character model (and be treated as a separate character by the game). Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 12:20, November 20, 2021 (EST)
Support Support While Gullivarr does indeed seem to be a different character entirely separate from Gulliver, I do agree that DJ K.K. should have his own page, given that he has a very distinct identity and role from that of the regular K.K. Slider. Also, having a page solely for his DJ activities just seems… right. Breaku (talk)
