Slingshots are used to knock presents down from balloons. The Silver and Golden Slingshots can shoot more pebbles at balloons, increasing your chance of knocking them down. The slingshot was introduced in Animal Crossing: Wild World. The slingshot can also be used for mischief like shooting down Pete the postman and Gulliver the astronaut. The Golden Slingshot in Animal Crossing: City Folk floats on three gold balloons.

The Silver Slingshot is found in both Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: New Leaf, but can be purchased from Tom Nook for 500 bells in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

After the player shoots down 14 balloons, the next balloon will be carrying a golden slingshot. The player will have to shoot down three golden balloons to receive it. This golden slingshot fires three pellets at a time, one moving to the right, one to the left, and one down the middle. This gives the player a much better chance of hitting the balloon.

Silver

After shooting down 14 balloons, silver balloons will start to appear, which carry toolboxes containing silver slingshots. The silver slingshot can fire two pellets at once.
