We're glad that you've chosen to create an account! You are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Animal Crossing encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some things to keep in mind when editing pages:

  • Read our wiki's editing, general use, and privacy policies.
  • Create your user page! Your user page is your own personal space to put anything you want.
  • Make effective edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't 'edit war', or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links and tutorials, please see the help pages.

If you're looking for some place to start, why not check out the Community Fountain? Here you will find current events and things to do.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask a wiki staff member, or at the Community Fountain talk page. We're always happy to help! Have a great time! -- Nookipedia Staff

Notes on list of furniture

Hey. I've seen your edits on Stereo, and I have to give you some thanks on improving it, although admittedly a lot of work is left to be done. With regards to that, I'll give you a few pointers on how you could improve the page a lot further:

With all of that being said, I wish you luck with your stay here on Nookipedia! Lucky Clovers NL Icon.pngDecomposer 03:48, February 23, 2020 (EST)

Categorizing

Hi, good luck with categorizing all images. I woke up today and went to check if any new houses are uploaded to add them to my table and there's so much categorizing going on :'D There are a few images where I don't necessarily agree with you - like, the star fragment; the images are storage icons. If I were to look for them, my first though wouldn't be to go to model renders, I'd expect, like, 3d renders there. I'd go sprites or whereever the storage icons are. But that's just me, it's important to make a start so the rest can follow. And thank you for categorizing the houses, too. :3 PaviinkaPapa Bear WW Model.png(Message me!) 01:11, April 29, 2020 (EDT)

As for the storage icons, they seem to be 3D renders of the items (especially if you compare them to the icons), but I completely understand why they might make more sense in sprites for ease of navigation. I'll probably make a talk page in the morning (it's midnight where I am) to gather more opinions. Anyway, thanks for the kind words! :) AlexBot2004 (talk) 01:22, April 29, 2020 (EDT)
When did you go to bed? I hope you had enough sleep! I was thinking, are you keeping track of the categories as you categorize? I had categorizing further back on my to do list, and I wanted to create some sort of map that would be more user friendly than Special:Categories or the outline we have in Community Fountain. I was thinking it would be neat to have a page with maybe collabsable outline for all the categories... 🤔 But the design can be figured out later, right, haha. PaviinkaPapa Bear WW Model.png(Message me!) 12:46, April 29, 2020 (EDT)
I do think having a more user friendly design is definitely a must, but for now my main focus is just getting everything categorized. If you have any ideas, feel free to implement them though! AlexBot2004 (talk) 14:07, April 29, 2020 (EDT)
The storage icons category made me very happy today 😂😂 PaviinkaPapa Bear WW Model.png(Message me!) 03:10, May 3, 2020 (EDT)

Staff?

Just wondering, do you have any interest in becoming part of the Nookipedia staff? You've been a great, active contributor and I think you're ready for more tools. Obviously not mandatory or anything, but I'd be happy to nominate you for the patroller position if you're interested. Either way, thanks for all your work so far! Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 12:30, May 3, 2020 (EDT)

Wow, that would be amazing! I gladly accept! Thank you so much! ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 12:36, May 3, 2020 (EDT)
I know you've seen it already, but you're now a Patroller! Congrats! We'll try and get you added as staff on Discord as soon as possible also! Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 11:38, May 10, 2020 (EDT)

PG Exterior

Hi there. I saw that you cropped the island exterior. I cropped all the Animal Crossing exteriors to the smallest possible size that wouldn't get stretched out - so they're all 366x440 as the biggest house is 440 tall and the template is set to 366. But I guess it's not that big of a stretch. Do you want me to crop the rest? PaviinkaPapa Bear WW Model.png(Message me!) 01:17, May 13, 2020 (EDT)

Oh, I wasn't aware there was a standard. Looking at the rest of the exteriors, I feel like they're fine how they are. I only cropped the island one because it had a lot of empty space at the top, but for now I'll revert it so it's consistent with the others and doesn't get stretched out. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 15:44, May 13, 2020 (EDT)

Admin?

Just wondering if you fancied a shot at becoming an administrator? You've done a really great job as a Patroller and I'm sure you'd be no different if you were an admin. I'd certainly be delighted to nominate you! As I've said before, it's not compulsory or anything, but I do think you should consider it! Thanks. :) Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 14:14, July 25, 2020 (EDT)

That sounds great, I gladly accept your nomination! Thank you for your support! :] ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 14:51, July 25, 2020 (EDT)

Japanese-exclusive furniture

Hi, I'm just wondering how you got all of those Japanese-exclusive items from the OG Animal Crossing games.

I'm asking this because I would like to know what the full catalog in the Japanese games is like for a project I'm working on (specifically, the shirts). TurtleCrossing (talk) 03:08, August 18, 2020 (EDT)

For the Japanese-exclusive images, I took screenshots from the catalog in Dolphin, then cropped them. As for the full catalog, a few other editors and I have been working behind the scenes on a spreadsheet project for all the original Animal Crossing games that documents all items and more, similar to the ACNH Spreadsheet. It's not quite ready to go, but soon enough we'll use it to generate item lists and pages here on the wiki. Thank you for your interest! ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 13:31, August 18, 2020 (EDT)

Quick Question

Hey, I was just wondering how you were able to create a navigation thing on your page. I'm trying to figure this out, in case if some users want to see some things I did. AnimalCrossingFan24 (talk) 15:39, September 11, 2020 (EDT)

I have a separate page (User:AlexBot2004/Nav) that I transclude at the top of all of my user pages. It just consists of <center></center> with links inside separated by bullet points (). Hope this helps! ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 15:49, September 11, 2020 (EDT)
Hmm, sounds kinda tough but I'll figure it out eventually, appreciate answering though! AnimalCrossingFan24 (talk) 21:07, September 12, 2020 (EDT)

Update K.K. NH Character Icon.png

Yes, It’s me, The Infinite Frog, BendyGamer338. I have been begging you multiple times to duplicate the DJ K.K. NH Character Icon and tweak the image so that way it shows that it doesn't look like the one from Pocket Camp. Or, maybe you can crop the icon from a social media profile. Thanks! ~bendygamer (talk) 20:49, September 24, 2020 (EDT)

While it is odd the K.K.'s icon has shading while DJ KK's doesn't, the image should not be edited from the original, as fan-made images are not allowed on the wiki. That's how the icon looks in-game and the file was ripped directly from the game, and that is how it will stay here unless Nintendo changes it themselves. Sorry if that's a disappointment. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 21:18, September 24, 2020 (EDT)
The icon without shades is also from the game, hence the shadow. This can be seen when requesting a song to K.K. Slider. ~bendygamer (talk) 21:52, September 28, 2020 (EDT)
I've uploaded the file you're referring to, however it will not replace the existing icon; the existing one will stay in use as it is for consistency with other character icons. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 22:33, September 28, 2020 (EDT)

Initial House Pictures (New Horizons)

I checked the contribution history of the uploaders of Initial_House_Jock_NH.jpg, Initial House Normal NH.jpg, etc., and the original uploaders are the actual owners of those images. All of User:Mewprchrt's contributions have a female character with a ponytail, green almond-shaped eyes, and she does not have evidence of stealing any of her screenshots. User:Ocre actually has Agnes and Ozzie as starter villagers in their various towns, so those screenshots actually belong to them. The other uploaders are new accounts that were created solely to upload a singular image of a villager from their town, and it doesn't look like these images are anywhere else on the internet. So the source parameter doesn't need to be blanked out for them since we know they are the original owners. HylianAngel (talk) 20:15, October 15, 2020 (EDT)

Ah I see, thanks for letting me know! I've reverted all of those edits. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 09:58, October 16, 2020 (EDT)

Wild World and City Folk Villager Houses

Hey, I just wanted to ask for more info about standardizing the Wild World and City Folk furniture lists. Nearly all Wild World and City Folk houses have identical furniture items, furniture layouts, wallpaper, flooring, and music, but you've been differentiating Wild World from City Folk. (There are some screenshots of differing Wild World and City Folk houses floating about, but usually the houses are different because the villagers will eventually rearrange the furniture layout of their whole house.) Is there a reason why Wild World and City Folk shouldn't be combined, like how the Animal Crossing and Doubutsu no Mori e+ houses are combined in cases when those are identical? I feel like optimally WW and CF should be combined, featuring the City Folk furniture if possible, and then only displaying Wild World separately in cases where the houses are actually different. Also this page seems to suggest that having the Wild World and City Folk house headers combined is ideal, though of course there are some other headers conventions in that link that aren't currently being used in the actual wiki. Just want to know what the correct format is before doing more similar edits. Thank you for your time! HylianAngel (talk) 18:01, October 30, 2020 (EDT)

While many Wild World and City Folk villager houses are similar, they do differ (an example can be seen here and here). Also, even if the furniture is the same in some, different layouts are worth documenting. This, paired with the fact that Wild World and City Folk are completely separate games, unlike Animal Crossing and Doubutsu no Mori e+ (e+ is more of an expansion), is why they are separated. As for Project Villager, it unfortunately is a bit outdated, and some of the guidelines have changed over time. The decision to keep WW and CF separate, along with a couple other changes (like noting duplicate items), was agreed upon by the staff and editors in the Discord server, though it never made its way to Project Villager. I'll make sure to update the project page to reflect the current standards and guidelines. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 18:17, October 30, 2020 (EDT)
I would agree if it was just similar house layouts. But the layouts are actually identical. They start rearranging their house layouts after day 1 of being in the town. I can't find any actual images of a brand-new Wild World Bob, but you can compare with brand-new Wild World playthroughs/speedruns and see that the house layouts and furniture are identical during Day 1 for villagers, and later they start randomly rearranging the furniture. Some of the Wild World images on here are outdated and show what the house looks like after they start rearranging furniture. Unless you're 100% sure that that particular Wild World Bob is brand-new. HylianAngel (talk) 18:38, October 30, 2020 (EDT)

Rolf's WW House

Can you restore Rolf's previous WW house? The current .png doesn't have the correct furniture but the .jpg did. HylianAngel (talk) 17:17, November 23, 2020 (EST)

Benedict HHD

I'm not sure how accurate the information on the HHD wiki is, but this page implies that Benedict's HHD music is "My Place" instead of "I Love You." Sometimes characters have HHD music that's different from the mainline games, to fit a particular room theme. HylianAngel (talk) 20:58, November 24, 2020 (EST)

I'm not 100% sure what the song actually is, but I don't think we should source our information from other wikis (especially Fandom) if it conflicts with our existing info, since either one could be right, and we generally tend to be more accurate. Plus, the fact that the editor just changed it with no edit summary led me to believe it was inaccurate (changing minor info seemingly innocently without explanation is a common thing done by vandals here). It could very well have been "My Place", but given the lack of info from the editor, I would leave it as is for now. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 21:16, November 24, 2020 (EST)
We'd have to ask User:LoneShadowStar if he based the information from the existing song entries or if he actually learned this info from Happy Home Designer-related info since he added that info at this date. And I totally understand that it's questionable which wiki is accurate, but the person who added that music info to the Happy Home Designer Fandom wiki has made many useful quality edits to that wiki and it seems like they most likely own the game. I just want the info on this wiki to be accurate, regardless of how the information was obtained. HylianAngel (talk) 21:38, November 24, 2020 (EST)
I dug out my copy of HHD, so I'll start fixing up some of those HHD sections. HylianAngel (talk) 00:27, November 25, 2020 (EST)
Very nice, thanks! ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 01:57, November 25, 2020 (EST)
Benedict's HHD music did end up being "My Place," so I think an assumption was made by LoneShadowStar that the HHD music was "I Love You" since that is his music in the mainline games. I always check with my copy of HHD first, but it seems all of the edits made specifically by Allizhon on the Fandom wiki are totally accurate. HylianAngel (talk) 17:38, January 25, 2021 (EST)

File:Smash Bros Symbol.png

A few days ago, it looks like File:Smash Bros Symbol.png was deleted for being unused, but it's used for Template:SSB, so it's caused some pages to be added to Category:Pages with broken file links. HylianAngel (talk) 17:32, January 25, 2021 (EST)

I've restored the image; thanks for letting me know. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 17:51, January 25, 2021 (EST)

Question

Do these press images from Nintendo Japan belong in Animal Crossing: New Horizons/Update History? -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 05:19, January 27, 2021 (EST)

Hmm, I suppose we could rename the section to "Promotional images" and include those. In the past this hasn't been an issue since all official promo images were included in the press releases, but not this time for some reason. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 16:50, January 27, 2021 (EST)

PGClothingVillagers cargo

First of all, I now completely understand that we should be using the standard format for the item pages, but I do have one thing to ask: Is there any way to can access the PGClothingVillagers cargo (or whatever it's called) in case there are some errors on the Item pages that need to be fixed (for example, I have seen cases on a few Item pages where a particular villager is duplicated)? Snapping Turtle NH Icon.pngTurtleCrossing of the Turtle TribeTortimer PC Character Icon.png 19:33, April 4, 2021 (EDT)

The template can be accessed here, however it pulls data from this Cargo table. Can you let me know which pages have duplicates? I can get that fixed by refreshing the Cargo table. Also, I've opened a task for the PGClothingVillagers template to be updated to account for the Japanese versions, so they can automatically be updated. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 19:40, April 4, 2021 (EDT)
Hmm, so you can't edit specific cargo templates through the Wiki alone? That's pretty inconvenient, if you ask me.
Anyway, so after doing a big search, I can tell you I did not spot a single case of unnecessary villager duplication (though I do personally object to how pages like the Diner Uniform page are handled). I recall seeing duplicates of Aziz on the Anju's Shirt page and I believe Flash on the Blue Aloha Shirt, but those appeared to have been fixed.
With that out of the way, all that I feel needs to be added are the rest of the villagers exclusive to e+ for their respective shirts' item pages. Snapping Turtle NH Icon.pngTurtleCrossing of the Turtle TribeTortimer PC Character Icon.png 20:45, April 4, 2021 (EDT)
The Cargo tables pull their data from other pages, acting as a database of sorts. For example, the pg_villager table pulls its data from the PGVillagerInfo sections of the villager pages. The PGClothingVillagers template just takes that data stored in Cargo and formats it to display as a sentence. The tasks site is just to organize work that needs to be done, it's not required to edit the templates; I just don't know enough about Cargo to update the template, so I started that task to note that we need to do that. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 20:53, April 4, 2021 (EDT)
I've prepared an update for PGClothingVillagers, but I'll push it live in a few hours after the Cargo table finishes refreshing.
On a sidenote, Alex - I'd like to upload cropped versions of the new PG villager models. I suppose we could name them as X PG Model Cropped.png? Let me know your preference. ~SuperHamster Talk 02:34, April 5, 2021 (EDT)
Updated template. It's not a very sophisticated change and results in some repetitive entries like Item:A Shirt (Animal Crossing) - I'll work on improving that. ~SuperHamster Talk 11:22, April 5, 2021 (EDT)

Missing N64 models

Yo, so I've noticed that Amelia, Puck, and Spike are the only villagers whose differences are listed on the Doubutsu no Mori page yet do not have their models from that version uploaded on this Wiki.

Given their default shirts are primarily black in color, is this perhaps due to transparency issues (as I've seen as the reason for some GameCube models not being uploaded here)? Snapping Turtle NH Icon.pngTurtleCrossing of the Turtle TribeTortimer PC Character Icon.png 12:54, April 19, 2021 (EDT)

Yep, it's due to the transparency not being possible because of their black shirts. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 12:56, April 19, 2021 (EDT)

Party Dress and Tuxedo

Hey, don't know if you're the right person to ask this question to, but you did upload the two models of the shirts I mentioned in the header, so I might as well ask you anyway.

Do you know if the textures for the Party Dress and the Tuxedo in Doubutsu no Mori are used at all? I do know there are 8 other shirt designs in the game that the player can't wear at all, but are still worn by NPC villagers in certain events (like the Puffy Vests or the Sweatsuits), so I'm wondering if the same applies to these two shirts as well. Snapping Turtle NH Icon.pngTurtleCrossing of the Turtle TribeTortimer PC Character Icon.png 19:28, April 19, 2021 (EDT)

About the Murphy page

The reason I removed part of his catchphrase note is because every other villager that had their catchphrase changed in New Horizons (from what I've seen) only has "New Horizons" in their note. Pocket Camp isn't mentioned at all (I'm also unaware if this is a new change). ~ Vivian (Talk with me?) Vivian DnMe+ Minigame.png 21:58, April 20th, 2021 (EDT)

I think if the catchphrase was changed/added to Pocket Camp after the release of New Horizons, then it could be "New Horizons onwards"; if it changed (like in this case), the change can be noted in the Pocket Camp section of the page. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 22:11, April 20, 2021 (EDT)

Wrong spreadsheet links

Yo, don't know if you're the right person to ask this question to, but while I was trying to find the spreadsheet for the original Animal Crossing to figure out if I can give the Well Model furniture item the DnM+ tag in the appearances section of its infobox (since the Shrine Model probably won't have its own dedicated page), I've noticed a few items from the N64/GCN games link to the New Horizons spreadsheet, instead. (for example, the aforementioned Well Model, the NES furniture model, and the Sandlot carpet item. There's very likely much more, but those are the first ones I found with this issue)

Any reason for this? Snapping Turtle NH Icon.pngTurtleCrossing of the Turtle TribeTortimer PC Character Icon.png 00:40, May 9, 2021 (EDT)

I've updated the Well Model page. Yeah, those pages aren't supposed to link to the ACNH Spreadsheet; I've opened a task for them to be replaced with the correct link. In the meantime, you can find the ACGC Spreadsheet here. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 01:02, May 9, 2021 (EDT)

It is true, but I don't think it's necessary to note on this page. Mentioning the console's competitors is kind of stretching it with our coverage, since we're an Animal Crossing wiki and don't need in-depth non-Animal Crossing info, so we definitely don't need to mention a console the GameCube didn't even compete with. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 13:54, May 13, 2021 (EDT)

Again, why did you also delete the point about the N64 being a fifth-generation console and info about it competing with the PlayStation and Saturn. They are common general knowledge points that almost every other NIWA wiki, including the Zelda and Mario Wiki note down. We should be improving articles, even if they have non-Animal Crossing-related info that's at least Nintendo-related, rather than water them down. We note it on the GameCube, Wii, Wii U, and Switch pages so why remove them from the N64 page. Who cares if doesn't have to do with Animal Crossing, it is still important info. --Dr. Peach (talk) 10:40, May 14, 2021 (EDT)

Alright pwwnd, I think your obsession with video game consoles in general have been pretty annoying, both within NIWA and outside NIWA. You were confronted about your unnecessary editions to the Wii U article on Super Mario Wiki when you were editing as an IP (which by the way you shouldn't have done editing at all, because of reasons), and your editing warring on Wikipedia over the exact same things. If you want to include all that information, I highly recommend contacting tacopill either through email or by the NIWA Discord to obtain a NintendoWiki account. From there, it would be somewhat necessary to include all that information, but on the conditions that they are cited with valid sources. Continuing to bickering with another staff about this situation will not get your anywhere, it's going to get you resentment. Take this as a user that didn't know much and was banned permanently for a while on Super Mario Wiki. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 12:41, May 14, 2021 (EDT)
I don't see a problem with discussing the situation like this. Discussion is certainly better than edit-warring/continuing to add questionable content. Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 12:56, May 14, 2021 (EDT)
Agreed with Drago. While I don't think this information should be added, I'm only one person and I do not speak for the whole wiki. I would recommend starting a proposal at the Community Fountain to gain consensus. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 13:00, May 14, 2021 (EDT)
Yeah a proposal should be a best idea rather than continuing a string of discussion over the removal of content. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 13:01, May 14, 2021 (EDT)
I've made the proposal. --Dr. Peach (talk) 16:21, May 14, 2021 (EDT)

simple question

Hey. I know you may not get to reading this, but I just want to know how to make a redirect. - unsigned comment from Barreleye (talkcontribs)

A simple question with a simple answer. Simply create a page, and have the wikitext as #REDIRECT [[target]]. ~ Vivian (talk) Vivian DnMe+ Minigame.png 17:53, June 7, 2021 (EDT)

Sweetfish Error

Just wanted to point out that there appears to be an error on the Sweetfish page regarding times of day on Wild World and City Folk, I attempted to fix it in a few ways but can't figure out quite what the error is. Just wanted to let you know, thanks! :)
