The red-cosmos plant is a flower item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As a flower item, running over the plant has a chance to remove its petal, setting it back a growth level. It can be relocated using a shovel.
The red-cosmos plant is obtained from planting and growing a Red-Cosmos Bag or by breeding Cosmos flowers. When picked, it produces Red Cosmos.
In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing the second villager's vacation house.
