Nintendo eShop
The Nintendo eShop is the online marketplace for the Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and the Nintendo Switch. The eShop succeeds the Wii Shop Channel on the Wii and the DSi Shop on the Nintendo DSi. The Nintendo 3DS version of the Nintendo eShop launched on June 6, 2011, with the Wii U and Nintendo Switch eShop launching on the same day as the console's release.
Several games are exclusive on the eShop, including Photos with Animal Crossing on Nintendo 3DS and the Virtual Console release of Animal Crossing: Wild World on Wii U. On February 15, 2022, Nintendo announced that the eShop on the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U will no longer accept purchases and new downloads on the service, and will only be used to re-download previously-installed software.[1]
