Clay (どぐろう, Dogurō) is a lazy hamster villager in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Personality

As a lazy villager, Clay be easy to get along with due to his laid-back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he shares a love of food and relaxing. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food, when fishing. He will get along well with other villagers, but may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a conflicting lifestyle of exercise and fitness, opposed to the lazy lifestyle of relaxing and food. He becomes great friends with the player, looking up to them for advice and, of course, presents.

Appearance

Clay is a brown hamster. He appears to be wearing a wrestling mask. His name (both Japanese and English) and facial design may be a reference to the Japanese "Dogū", clay figurines built in the Jōmon period.
