Takoya (タコヤ) is an octopus villager in the Animal Crossing series. He is a new character only seen in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and was one of the first villagers announced for the release of the game. His name may change for the English-version of the game.
Appearance
Takoya is a creamy-yellow colored octopus with salmon-colored accents on his snout and tentacles. He has brown hair on the top of his head, and three green freckles one each of his cheeks which are meant to represent seaweed which is a popular takoyaki topping in Japan. His eyes are small, black ovals.
Etymology
Tokoya's name is based on the Japanese word for octopus, tako (タコ), and the popular food, takoyaki, which has octopi as an ingredient.
