Petri is an unreleased mouse villager who will be added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons as part of the 2.0 update on November 5, 2021. Based on their appearance, their name may come from Petri dish, a type of container used in biologic studies, or its inventor, German microbiologist Julius Richard Petri.

They wear glasses with large round frames and opaque white lenses which obscure their eyes. The insides of their ears are different colors; the left is light blue or cyan and the right is red. Due to their white fur and their science theme, they appear to be based on laboratory mice.
