Spotlight items are rare furniture items in the Animal Crossing series sold at Tom Nook's or Timmy and Tommy's store. Appearing in Animal Crossing: Wild World, Animal Crossing: City Folk, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf, spotlight items occasionally replace a standard furniture item in the store; these items cannot normally be obtained from the store. In New Leaf, they start appearing in Timmy and Tommy's store once it has upgraded to T.I.Y.. They can also appear as items from Mom or Wishy the Star. They are worth +151 points to the HRA. Whenever there is a spotlight item in the store, there will be a notice on the bulletin board.
In Animal Crossing: Wild World, spotlight items, as well as Point Specials and half-price sales, will not appear unless a second human character is created in town.
