The Novel Painting (unofficial translation)[nb 1] is a painting in Doubutsu no Mori and Doubutsu no Mori+. In Doubutsu no Mori+, it is only available though the Data Moving Service, and it does not appear in the catalog. It is based on Piet Mondrian's Composition with Red, Yellow, and Blue. Like the Dreadful Painting, the Novel Painting's removal in subsequent games is for likely due to legal reasons, as Composition with Red, Yellow and Blue was under the legal ownership of the Mondrian estate until 2015, when his works entered the public domain.[1][2]
